Bepanthen® wound and healing ointment is free from fragrances, colors and preservatives and is very well tolerated.

1. WHAT IS BEPANTHEN® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?
Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT is an agent to support wound healing.

Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT is used for:
To support the healing of superficial skin and mucous membrane damage.

2. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CONSIDER BEFORE USING BEPANTHEN® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT?

Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT must not be used
if you have already reacted hypersensitively to one of the components of the drug.
Particular care is not required

when using Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT when used as intended. No interactions have been reported to date when using Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING Ointment with other medicines

What else do you need to look out for?
When treating the genital or anal area with Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING Ointment, the auxiliary agent white vaseline and the simultaneous use of latex condoms can lead to a reduction in tear strength and thus to an impairment of the safety of the condoms.

Pregnancy and lactation
There are no restrictions on the use of Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT during pregnancy and lactation.

Driving and using machines
No special precautions are necessary.

Important information about certain other ingredients of Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING Ointment
Wool wax, stearyl alcohol and cetyl alcohol can cause localized skin irritation (eg contact dermatitis).

3. HOW TO USE BEPANTHEN® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT?
Always use Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT exactly according to the instructions in this leaflet.
Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Apply a thin layer of Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING Ointment to the affected skin areas one to several times a day.
The duration of treatment depends on the type and course of the disease. Please contact your treating doctor.
If you have any further questions on the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?
Like all medicines, Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT can have side effects, which do not necessarily occur in everyone.
The evaluation of side effects is based on the following frequency information:
Very common: more than 1 in 10 people treated
Common: less than 1 in 10 but more than 1 in 100 people treated
Uncommon: less than 1 in 100 but more than 1 in 1,000 people treated
Rare: less than 1 in 1,000 but more than 1 in 10,000 people treated
Very rare: less than 1 in 10,000 people treated, or frequency unknown

Significant side effects or signs to look out for and measures to be taken if you are affected:
If you are affected by any of the side effects listed below, stop using Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT and see your doctor as soon as possible.

Skin :
Rare: Intolerance reactions in the form of contact allergies have been observed in rare cases.
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.

5. HOW TO STORE BEPANTHEN® WOUND AND HEALING OINTMENT?
Store drug out of reach of children.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the fold of the tube and the carton.
Storage conditions
Do not store above 25°C!

Information on shelf life after opening or preparation
After opening, Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING Ointment can be kept for another 3 months. After this date, you should stop
using the medicine.

What does Bepanthen® WOUND AND HEALING Ointment contain:
The active ingredient is: dexpanthenol (1 g ointment contains 0.05 g dexpanthenol).

The other ingredients are:
bleached wax; thick paraffin; Thin liquid paraffin-white vaseline-ceresin-glycerol monooleate (veg.)-wool wax alcohol mixture (Protegin X); Purified water; cetyl alcohol (Ph.Eur.); Almond oil; stearyl alcohol (Ph.Eur.); white petroleum jelly; wool wax.
