  • Your doctor will individually adjust the dose to your clinical picture. The usual starting dose is one sachet (1500 mg glucosamine) once a day.
  • Glucosamine is not indicated for the treatment of acute painful symptoms, since relief of symptoms (particularly pain relief) occurs several weeks after starting treatment, and in some cases even later.
  • If after 2-3 months there is no improvement in symptoms, the continuation of treatment with glucosamine should be reconsidered.
  • If you take more than you should
    • If you take more of the medicine than you should, you must contact your doctor or a hospital.
    • Signs and symptoms of a glucosamine overdose may include headache, dizziness, confusion, joint pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation. If there are signs of an overdose, you must stop taking glucosamine.
  • If you forget to take a dose
    • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
  • If you stop taking it
    • Your symptoms may come back.
  • If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects :

  • Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
  • You must stop taking this medicine and see your doctor straight away if you get signs of angioedema such as:
    • swelling of your face, tongue or throat;
    • Difficulties swallowing;
    • wheals (hives) and breathing problems.
  • The following side effects have been reported:
    • Common: may affect up to 1 in 10 people
      • Headache, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation.
    • Uncommon: may affect up to 1 in 100 people
      • vomiting, rash, itching, reddening of the skin.
    • Not known: frequency cannot be estimated from the available data
      • Dizziness, worsening of existing asthma, increase in liver enzymes, jaundice, swelling of the face, tongue or throat (angioedema, see above), hives, high cholesterol, worsening of blood sugar control in patients with diabetes, swelling, swelling of the ankles, legs and feet.
  • If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects that are not specified.

Interactions :

  • Taking the preparation together with other medicines

  • Take with food and drink

    • if you are allergic to glucosamine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

  • Ability to drive and use machines
    • No studies on the effects on the ability to drive or use machines have been performed. If you feel dizzy or light-headed, it is recommended that you refrain from driving or using machines.

What should you consider?
- Be careful if you are allergic to shellfish!
- Be careful if you have an intolerance to fructose (fruit sugar). If you have to follow a diabetic diet, you should consider the sugar content.
- Aspartame/phenylalanine may be harmful to patients with phenylketonuria.
