Effect and application of milk thistle extract
Responsible for the numerous positive properties of milk thistle is silymarin, a natural mixture of different flavonolignans (plant substances): silibinin, isosilibinin, silychristin and silydianin.
The fruits / seed capsules of the thistle contain the active ingredient silymarin, which is highly dosed and extracted with 400 mg (80%) per vegan capsule in our milk thistle extract (500 mg). Milk thistle (scientific name: Silybum marianum) is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the Carduoideae family.
