For cold and flu. Clears the airways, stops coughing and loosens phlegm
People plagued by colds have been using Pinimenthol cold ointment for more than 70 years. It is suitable for young people aged 12 and over and adults. Users swear by the effects of the essential oils from pine needles and eucalyptus. The concentration of these herbal ingredients is particularly high in Pinimenthol Cold Ointment. With 40.5%, it has the highest proportion of essential oils of all cold ointments available in Germany.
If the cold ointment is rubbed on the skin, chest and upper back, the active ingredients enter the respiratory tract via the blood. There they develop their well-known effect: the bronchial tubes relax, breathing becomes easier again, and stubborn mucus can be cleared more easily by coughing.
A special cold ointment was developed for children from the age of 2: the Pinimenthol cold balm mild. This very well tolerated variant contains essential oils from eucalyptus and pine needles.
Cold ointment as an inhalant:
In addition to creaming the chest and back, these cold ointments are ideal as an inhalant. This applies to both the Pinimenthol cold ointment and the Pinimenthol cold balm mild. For inhalation, a 5 cm long line of ointment is placed in a suitable container and hot water is poured over it. The essential oils then reach the bronchi and respiratory tract particularly well, where they unfold their effect.
Tip: Inhaling with the pinimenthol inhaler is particularly safe. It has a hot water retention system that prevents scalding. Children under the age of 6 should not inhale with hot water yet.
The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How do the ingredients of the drug work?
The ingredients come from several plants and act as a natural mixture. They cause increased blood flow and mucus loosening in the area of application. Eucalyptus also stimulates the fine hairs of the upper respiratory tract to move faster. This makes it easier to remove stubborn mucus and makes it easier to cough up. It also reduces coughing spasms. The ingredients of the pine are also said to have a very weak bactericidal effect. The active ingredient menthol dissolves tough mucus particles, fights inflammation, relaxes cramped muscles and stimulates blood circulation.
