Fertilovit® M plus
For the dietary treatment of male fertility disorders (limited spermiogram)

What is Fertilovit® M plus and how does it work?
Fertilovit® M plus is a dietetic food for special medical purposes (supplementary balanced diet) and is used for the dietary treatment of fertility disorders in men with a restricted spermiogram. A reduction in male semen quality (the spermiogram) is an increasing global phenomenon.

A declining fertility of men is described in various studies worldwide. One in 10 couples is already childless today and the trend is rising, with at least one in three couples being primarily the cause of the problem in the man. Reproductive medicine offers a number of options for helping couples with an unfulfilled desire to have children after all.

Methods such as chlomiphene cycles, insemination, IVF or ICSI are very effective for merging the egg and sperm cells - but the same applies here: sperm cells that are severely damaged cannot lead to successful fertilization and subsequent pregnancy even with these methods. There are many reasons why men's semen quality and quantity are impaired. In addition to many other factors, environmental hormone stress, environmental pollution, an unbalanced diet and, increasingly, oxidative stress are often blamed.

Oxidative stress is the damage to cells caused by excess aggressive oxygen radicals. In particular, the germ cells (semen and egg cells) are susceptible here. Normally the body has a number of defense mechanisms - endogenous "antioxidants" - but these are not always present in sufficient quantities. Stress, smoking, but also unhealthy eating habits ensure that the body can lack important vital substances.

A healthy lifestyle and diet also benefits fertility
. The good news first: Since sperm are constantly being regenerated, a healthy man can always have a positive influence on his sperm quantity and quality through his lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet rich in antioxidants and other vital substances that are important for cell division in general and sperm development in particular can make an important contribution to reproductive fitness.

Sometimes, however, it is difficult in everyday life with its diverse stresses at work and leisure time to pay attention to a healthy and balanced diet. Then the additional supply of special nutrients through dietary supplements and dietary foods can make sense.

Antioxidants
Antioxidants are vital substances that can protect the genetic information, proteins and/or fats of all body cells (including sperm) from oxidative stress. These include vitamins C and E. Vitamin C is the main antioxidant in the semen (seminal plasma), but it is excreted by the body relatively quickly, which is why a large part of the consumed vitamin C cannot fully develop its positive effect.

Fertilovit® M plus therefore contains vitamin C in depot form, so that you can benefit from a continuous release and thus a longer duration of action. Vitamin E as a fat-soluble vitamin also protects the cell membranes in particular from oxygen radicals.

Selenium and zinc for healthy fertility
It is undisputed that the trace elements selenium and zinc in particular are of great importance for male fertility. Zinc is an essential trace element and indispensable for numerous processes in the body. It not only supports the normal function of the immune system, growth and protein synthesis, but also promotes normal cell division and DNA synthesis, as well as normal fertility and reproduction.

In addition, it is important for maintaining healthy testosterone levels. Selenium is also an essential trace element with many vital functions in the human body. As a component of so-called "selenoproteins", selenium is part of important protective enzymes that protect the cells from attack by highly reactive oxygen compounds.

Other selenoproteins, in turn, play an important role in the metabolism of thyroid hormones, which are also important for fertility. In addition, selenium is required for healthy sperm development. Based on these findings, a new generation of balanced diets for men who wish to have children was developed with Fertilovit® M plus.

The preparations were tested in one of the largest European centers for reproductive medicine and recommended for use when trying to have children.

Composition:
The composition of Fertilovit® M plus meets the special requirements for male fertility disorders (limited spermiogram).
