Forgot to take?

      • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, adults take 1 slow-release hard capsule daily in the morning and evening (equivalent to 100 mg aescin).

    • children and young people

      • It is not intended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18.

  • Duration of use:

    • Long-term treatment is possible after consulting your doctor.

    • If the symptoms do not improve within 4 weeks of taking the medicine, you should consult a doctor, as leg swelling can also have other causes. Please also note the information in the "Notes to patients" and "Side effects" categories.

  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

  • If you take more than you should:

    • If overdosed, the saponins contained in horse chestnut seed extract can intensify the symptom of nausea, which is a known side effect. Vomiting and diarrhea are also possible. A doctor should be consulted to decide whether countermeasures are necessary.

  • If you forget to take a dose:

    • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

  • If you stop taking:

How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The ingredients come from the horse chestnut plant and act as a natural mixture. About the plant itself:

  - Appearance: up to 30m tall deciduous tree with large fingered leaves and showy pink flower spikes; the shiny brown seeds are surrounded by a yellowish-green prickly shell
  - Occurrence: temperate zones
  - Main ingredients: triterpene saponins (aescin), proanthocyanidins
  - Plant parts and preparations used: mainly extracts and tinctures of leaves, flowers and seeds
Aescin has vascular-sealing and edema-inhibiting effects and improves vein tonification. The ingredients also have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Indication :

  • This is a herbal medicine for vein disorders.

  • It is used in adults to treat symptoms of leg vein disease (chronic venous insufficiency), such as pain and heaviness in the legs, night cramps in the calves, itching and swelling of the legs.

  • If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 4 weeks, contact a doctor.

  • The drug should be taken whole and with plenty of liquid before meals.

  • If you experience mild stomach or intestinal problems, it is advisable to take the medicine with meals.

Side effects :

    • Cardiovascular:

Interactions :

  • Taking with other medicines:

    • The effect of anticoagulant drugs can be increased.

    • If you suddenly develop unusually severe symptoms, especially in one leg, which are noticeable as swelling, discolouration of the skin, a feeling of tension or heat as well as pain, you should consult a doctor immediately. These may be signs of a serious illness (vein thrombosis) in connection with the underlying venous insufficiency. These are not due to taking the medicine.

    • A doctor should also be consulted if there are signs of cardiac insufficiency or kidney dysfunction.

    • A notice:

      • Other non-invasive measures prescribed by the doctor, such as B. Wrapping the legs, wearing support stockings or cold water showers should be strictly adhered to.

      • Taking this medicine does not replace other preventive or treatment measures such as B. cold water showers or wearing medically prescribed support stockings.

    • children and young people

      • The use in children and adolescents under the age of 18 is not intended due to the area of ​​application.

  • Driving and using machines:
