WICK VapoRub cold ointment is four-fold effective for mild or severe cold symptoms, it effectively relieves coughs, runny noses, hoarseness or congestion.
WICK VapoRub is always a must when you have a cold 4 . It helps to sleep like a baby by relieving symptoms, despite a cold.
WICK VapoRub relieves nasal congestion in just 1 minute 1 , relieves cough in 15 minutes 2 , and releases vapors for up to 8 hours.
WICK VapoRub is suitable for adults and children from the age of 2 and is gently massaged into the chest and back. In children from 6 years of age, the ointment can also be gently applied to the neck before going to bed. Clothing that is as loose as possible should be worn during use to make it easier to inhale the vapors. 2 to 4 applications per day should not be exceeded. For children from 2 to 5 years, 2 to 3 applications per day should not be exceeded.

Type of application?
Apply the medicine to the affected skin area(s). Avoid accidental contact with mucous membranes, eyes and open skin.
Or: Inhale the medicine. Pour hot water over the intended amount of medicine. Bend your head over the jar, inhale the fumes through your nose and mouth, and if possible, cover your head and jar with a cloth. Caution hot! - It should only be used if the drug is safe to use.
Duration of use?
You should not use the drug for more than 3-5 days without medical advice. If the symptoms persist, you should see your doctor.
overdose?
If the drug is used as described, no overdose symptoms are known. If accidentally swallowed, contact a doctor immediately.
In general, pay attention to a conscientious dosage, especially for babies, small children and the elderly. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautions.
A dosage prescribed by the doctor may deviate from the information on the package leaflet. Therefore, since the doctor adjusts them individually, you should use the medicine according to his instructions.

The ointment can also be used for inhalation in children from the age of 6 and in adults. To do this, put hot (but not boiling) water in a bowl suitable for inhalation, dissolve 1 – 2 teaspoons of WICK VapoRub in it and breathe in the vapours.

What speaks against an application?
Always:
- hypersensitivity to the ingredients
- bronchial asthma
- bronchial tubes that react hypersensitively, eg to various substances, cold etc.
- damaged skin (eg burns, injuries, skin and children's diseases with a rash)

- pneumonia
Which age group should be considered?
- Infants and young children under the age of 2 years: The medicine must not be used.
- Children under 6 years: In this age group, the drug should only be used for certain indications. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist, if you have questions regarding this topic.
What about pregnancy and lactation?
- Pregnancy: consult your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the drug can be used during pregnancy.
- Lactation: the drug should not be applied to the breast.
If you have been prescribed the drug despite a contraindication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit can be higher than the risk that the use entails in the event of a contraindication.

What should you consider?
- Menthol/camphor/cineole: do not use on or near the respiratory organs in children under 2 years of age; Risk of laryngeal spasm. Hypersensitivity reactions (including dyspnea) may occur in sensitized patients.
How do the ingredients of the drug work?
The ingredients come from several plants and act as a natural mixture. All four ingredients cause increased blood flow and a mucous solution in the area of application.
