Indication
- Herbal medicine for catarrhal diseases of the respiratory tract.
- The drug is used to improve the symptoms of chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases; Acute inflammation of the airways accompanied by coughing.
- Notice:
- If the symptoms persist or if you experience shortness of breath, fever or purulent or bloody sputum, you should see a doctor immediately.
Dosage
- Always take the medicine exactly as directed. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
- Children under 6 years:
- Single dose: 2.5 ml corresponds to 17.5 mg ivy leaf dry extract
- Total daily dose: 5 ml (2 times 2.5 ml) corresponding to 35 mg ivy leaf dry extract
- Children from 6 - 12 years:
- Single dose: 5 ml corresponds to 35 mg ivy leaf dry extract
- Total daily dose: 10 ml (2 times 5 ml) corresponding to 70 mg ivy leaf dry extract
- Children from 12 years and adults:
- Single dose : 5 ml equivalent to 35 mg of dry extract of ivy leaves
- Total daily dose: 15 ml (3 times 5 ml) corresponding to 105 mg ivy leaf dry extract
- Children under 6 years:
- duration of use
- The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the clinical picture; however, it should be at least 1 week even in the case of milder inflammation of the airways.
- In the interests of long-term treatment success, it is also advisable to continue treatment with the preparation for 2-3 days after the symptoms have subsided.
- Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of is too strong or too weak.
- If you take more than you should:
- Do not take more of the drug per day than specified in the dosage instructions or prescribed by the doctor. Ingesting significantly higher amounts (more than three times the daily dose) can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In this case, you should consult your doctor
- If you forget to take a dose:
- Do not take a double dose next time, but continue to take it as directed by the doctor or as described in the package leaflet.
Way
- To take.
- The liquid is taken in the morning (noon) and evening.
Side effects
- As with all medicines, side effects can occur, although not everyone gets them.
- The assessment of side effects is based on the following frequencies:
- Very common: affects more than 1 in 10 people
- Common: affects 1 to 10 users in 100
- Uncommon: affects 1 to 10 users in 1,000
- Rare: affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000
- Very rare: affects less than 1 in 10,000 people
- Not known: frequency cannot be estimated from the available data
- Possible side effects:
- Allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, swelling, reddening of the skin and itching can occur very rarely after taking medicines containing ivy.
- Gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occasionally occur in sensitive people.
- Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects that are not listed.
Interactions
- Taking other medicines:
- No investigations have been conducted. So far no interactions have become known.
- Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.
Contraindications
- Do not take the drug if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
Pregnancy and breast feeding period
- This medicine should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding as there are insufficient studies.
Patient notes
- Particular caution is required when ingesting
- Children:
- The medicine should only be used in children under the age of one after consulting a doctor. Ingestion in this age group should only be done under careful observation, since diarrhea and vomiting are more common in children under the age of 1 year compared to older children.
