The use of FRONTLINE® SPOT ON

Take a pipette out of the packaging. Hold the pipette upright and snap the pipette tip down at the perforated point. Part your dog's fur between the shoulder blades and place the eyedropper directly on the skin. Then empty the pipette. From this point, the active ingredient is distributed over the entire skin within 1 to 2 days with the natural sebum film.

How FRONTLINE® SPOT ON works

After application, FRONTLINE® SPOT ON spreads with the skin's natural sebum film and acts like an external, invisible protective coat against ticks, fleas and biting lice in dogs. To ensure optimal distribution, you should not bathe your dog within 2 days of treatment. Parasites absorb the active ingredient when they come into contact with the skin and are rendered harmless within a short period of time.

THE FREQUENTLY FREQUENT QUESTIONS ABOUT FRONTLINE® SPOT ON

1. Why should I treat my cat for ticks and fleas?
Ticks and fleas can trigger infectious and skin diseases that can be dangerous not only for us humans, but also for our animals. Parasitic diseases caused by worms, such as cucumber seed tapeworm, can be transmitted by fleas, for example. But ticks can also pose a risk of disease for our velvet paws - studies have shown that every third tick carries the trigger for Lyme disease. Therefore, pet owners should treat their four-legged friends with parasite protection as a preventive measure.

2. Why do I still see ticks after the treatment?
FRONTLINE® Spot On renders over 90% of ticks harmless within 48 hours. Due to the active principle, however, it is possible that live ticks that have newly infested the animal are temporarily visible on the animal. However, they will be killed once sufficient drug has penetrated through the shell and can then be easily removed. In this way it can be ensured that there is no risk of the affected ticks transmitting infectious diseases to other animals in the household or the surrounding area.

3. Why do I still see fleas after the treatment?
FRONTLINE® Spot On renders over 95% of fleas harmless within 24 hours. However, by the time fleas are discovered on the animal, the eggs, larvae and pupae have usually already spread to the surrounding area. Because the adult fleas on the animal only make up about 5% of the flea infestation. New fleas can always develop from the flea brood - therefore the entire flea cycle must be broken in order to get rid of the flea infestation again. This is only the case when there are no more offspring, which can last up to 3 months. Flea spawn can infest the entire home environment. It is therefore recommended as an additional measure to clean the area mechanically by vacuuming and washing the infested textiles every day and to kill the flea brood with suitable insecticides (e.g. FRONTLINE HOMEGARD®).

4. How do I protect my puppy from fleas and ticks?
Puppies can also be infested with parasites. Fleas in particular can cause problems for the little ones and can even cause anemia in the event of a massive infestation. FRONTLINE® SPRAY can be used on puppies and kittens from the first day of life. It immediately renders ticks and fleas harmless and can be precisely adjusted to the puppy's weight. From the 12th week of life and a body weight of 2 kg, you can switch to FRONTLINE® SPOT ON.
